Report Excerpt:

VOTE: Unanimous

COMMENT:  This fund was created to hold money raised from successful override votes.  Money accumulated in this fund is drawn down each year by way of two-thirds vote of Town Meeting to help fund the next fiscal year budget.  The amount appropriated out of this fund by this vote is what is necessary to balance the FY2026 budget.  (Requires 2/3 Vote)

In the Finance Committee Second Supplemental Report they voted to reduce the dollar amount appropriated. That number is reflected below.

Additional Comment: Due to the further reduction in Arlington’s Minuteman assessment, less money needs to be pulled from the Fiscal Stability Stabilization Fund to balance the FY 2026 budget than was originally calculated at the time the Finance Committee’s original Report went to print. This vote makes that adjustment. (Requires 2/3 Vote).

Vote Language:

That the sum of $8,984,045 be and hereby is appropriated from the Fiscal Stability Stabilization Fund, and that the Board of Assessors is instructed to use said amount in the determination of the tax rate.
